Neve Shalom - Wahat al-Salam welcomes visits from groups and individuals. When possible, individual visitors are invited to join with groups that have already organized a visit.
The following programs are available for visiting groups. All programs must be booked well in advance.
1) Introduction to Neve Shalom Wahat al-Salam
A community member describes the development of the village, answers questions, and takes the group on a walking tour.
Time frame: 1.5 to 2 hours.
2) Workshops:
Sessions focus on various topics, such as Israel and Palestine through the eyes of the participants; points of similarity between the conflict here and those closer to home, etc. Workshop methods can include art, drama, storytelling and drawing, to stimulate self-expression.
Time frame: From 1.5 hours and adjustable to the time-frame of the group.
3) Lectures:
NSWAS members and associates share their knowledge and life-experience on a variety of subjects, such as binational education, work with groups in conflict, language and identity issues, teaching of history, majority-minority relations, etc.
Time frame: 1.5 - 2 hours.
2) Customized programs:
Longer programs can be customized according to the specific needs of a group. Programs can include lectures, workshops, activities in the Spiritual Centre, art, drama or dance work, cultural visits to Jewish and Palestinian sites in the area and more.
