"Doumia-Sakinah", or The Pluralistic Spiritual Centre, provides a framework for spiritual reflection on issues at the core of the middle east conflict and the search for its resolution.

Introduction

The Pluralistic Spiritual Centre is dedicated to the memory and heritage of Bruno Hussar, the founder of Neve Shalom Wahat al-Salam.

In his spiritual testament, Bruno said that "Faith in the final victory of love over enmity is the truest and most profound goal of Neve Shalom - Wahat al-Salam".

The House of Silence and the Spiritual Centre were established at the initiative of Neve Shalom - Wahat al-Salam founders Anne Le Meignen and Bruno Hussar.

"Doumia" is derived from Psalms 65,2:
"To thou Lord, silence (doumia) shall be as praise."

"Sakinah" is derived from the Quaran 48,4:
"He sends tranquility (sakinah) into the hearts of the believers, that they may add faith to their faith."

The Pluralistic Spiritual Centre constitutes a framework for encounter activiities, study and reflection, based on values of equality, justice and reconciliation. Its activities draw inspiration from the resources and spiritual traditions of the Middle East and the world at large.

Programs focus on open, inter-religious and inter-cultural dialogue, and the advancement of peace. The Centre is set apart on a pleasant corner of the hilltop and comprises the House of Silence (Bet Doumia / Bet as-Sakinah) for reflection and meditation, opened in the 1980s; and the Meeting, Prayer and Study House, opened in 2006.

The Pluralistic Spiritual Centre conducts activities for the general public.
